In a promotion titled ‘Kids Rule on Yas this Summer’, Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island has announced making several entertainment, dining and lodging options available free for kids under 12 years until September 30.

This includes Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest indoor theme park, and Yas Waterworld, the water theme park, as well as select hotels.

“Summer is a special time for kids and their families,” said Karim El Guanaini, Senior Vice President, Product Marketing and Distribution, Destination Yas Island. “We have great family packages, and activities and events to keep the whole family entertained all summer long,” he said.

“For instance, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld along with hotels such as Yas Viceroy, Crowne Plaza, Radisson Blu, Rotana and Centro have developed packages where kids stay, dine and go to the theme parks for free,” he added.

According to the terms and conditions of the campaign, residents or tourists staying at one of the participating hotels can have kids (one child per adult) stay and dine for free at the hotel. Adults staying at the hotels on the Yas Island will also get one park ticket to Ferrari World or Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi per adult, per day of their stay, while entry for children under the age of 12 will be complimentary (when accompanied by an adult).

Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director of Tourism Sector, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority said: “As Abu Dhabi Summer Season continues to provide entertainment and activities for all ages across the emirate, we are very happy to see Yas Island’s diverse range of attractions collaborate to enrich and extend our summer calendar with further superb offers and events.

“With the launching of the Yas Island summer campaign, we are delighted to support this appealing experience for kids to enjoy, with the chance to explore the island’s thrilling venues further, enhancing our ‘Fun For All’ theme,” added Al Dhaheri.

The announcement was made at a ‘one-of-a-kind’ press conference hosted by kids. The event, curated and hosted by the kids, was energetic and entertaining; and the first-of-its-kind to be held in the UAE.

About 15 kids from Al Dar Academies (ADA), between the ages of 10-12, chaired the press conference, accompanied by El Guanaini and Ahmed Ali Almashhadi of flynas, who made a series of key announcements about the celebration of summer on Yas.

In addition, the destination announced a treasure hunt which will see ‘golden keys’ hidden all around the island in participating outlets including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Yas Marina, Yas Marina Circuit, all hotels and Yas Links.

The Yas Treasure Hunt will run until September, and weekly prize draws are valued at over Dh10,000, the organisers said. Key finders will also be entered into a prize draw to win return flights with Etihad or flynas.
