AC @ 24 deg C: Will save power

The Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has saved 4.8 per cent more energy as compared to the same period last year during the second month (July 2016) of its summer campaign ‘Saving Starts at 24 C’.
 
The outreach campaign targets all of Empower’s customers and aims to reduce district cooling as well as electricity consumption and protect the environment resources.
 
Empower offered its customers many tips to reduce the consumption of district cooling, such as setting the temperature of air conditioners to 24 C, without wasting energy while not compromising on indoor comfort.
    
"We are proud of the achievements so far of our summer campaign on rationalising consumption, and in influencing positively to our customers by ensuring their wide participation," said Ahmad bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower. "The campaign will continue until the end of the summer."
 
"We also give tips for best ways of consumption and the rationalisation of energy to achieve the vision of our wise leadership, which stresses on the importance of adopting initiatives and awareness campaigns, to preserve the environment and ensure sustainable future," he added.
 
Empower currently operates more than 1,100,000 RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
