Accident on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road before Trade Centre Tunnel

A traffic accident before the Trade Centre Tunnel on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road in the direction of Sharjah on Wednesday morning caused huge tailbacks.

The accident was reported by Dubai Police at around 10.20am. The authority tweeted: “An accident has been reported on SZR before Trade Center tunnel toward Al Garhoud, please be extra cautious.”

Tailbacks were seen on the important intersection soon after the accident take place. @Charlesdubai posted a picture showing long queues Sharjah bound a little before 10.30am.

He tweeted: “Now outside lane blocked after WTC Tunnel on SZR heading south as rubbernecker crashes!!!”

A little later he reported that three lanes northbound were opened and traffic was starting to clear.

He said four cars have been involved in the crash.

Other details of the accident were not clear at the time of writing this report.
