Adec appoints 876 teachers

Abu Dhabi Education Council [Adec] has announced the recruitment of 876 new teachers – Emiratis and expats – to fill teaching and support positions in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region schools for the upcoming academic year, 2016-2017.

Mohammed Al Dhaheri, ADEC's Executive Director of School Operations, enforced the importance of promoting teaching Profession and attracting UAE nationals to join the education sector, being one of the key players in the development of education in Abu Dhabi, to reach the highest international standards, while maintaining the national identity.

Al Dhaheri added that the new appointments align with Adec's yearly plan to fill the vacancies according to the needs of schools, and to provide career opportunities that would help attract qualified educators and administrators to work in a variety of disciplines and grade levels in Adec schools, as well as to qualify teachers through professional & career development programs developed by ADEC.

The teaching positions are open for KG, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Physiology, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Social Workers, Special Education, and psychologists.

Candidates for teaching positions must have a Bachelor degree in the required teaching subject, with a minimum overall grade of 'Good', and they must have Ielts Academic certificate with the required score for specific subjects. Preference will be given to candidates with Icdl.
