Now, the wait is over. Online classified portal dubizzle.com is now live again after going offline for maintenance for several hours this morning.

The website was down for several hours since early this morning for what Dubizzle says was regular maintenance.

Earlier, a user told Emirates 24|7 that he had been trying to log on to the website since 6am this morning, but without luck.

"I have been trying to sell something online and it has to leave my apartment today. I am now looking for other similar  online classifieds,"  he said.

Users were being redirected instead to Dubizzle`s Facebook and YouTube page, where surfers got to see posts on how to make money by clearing your wardrobe and how to upgrade your BMW.

Moreover, with no call centre numbers for telephonic enquiries, all surfers could do was wait for the servers to be up again.

Ben Walton, Dubizzle’s Director of Technology, UAE, said: "Here at dubizzle.com, we always look for the best possible ways to improve the quality of our site and deliver a great experience to all our users. So from the technical side, we run a scheduled maintenance on the site on a regular basis, the purpose of which is to add new features and product updates. This is a planned process that takes place for a short period of time.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that today’s maintenance may have caused, but it is a necessity that we cannot avoid, and we chose to run it during the early hours of the day, when our site traffic is not at its peak. That said, we will add the contact details of our customer support team at the maintenance page, who are available 24x7 to respond to our users’ inquiries during the scheduled maintenance," added Walton.
