An iconic restaurant complex in the emirate of Ajman was all but gutted in the fire yesterday.

The Holiday Beach Club, which houses a host of themed restaurants, saw three of its outlets completely destroyed by a fire which early reports suggest were cause by the explosion of a gas cylinder.

The Director of Civil Defence in the emirate, Brigadier Saleh Saeed Al Matrooshi , said, “Firefighting operations near the site of the accident were rushed and managed to extinguish the blaze.”

Spokesman for the Civil Defence in the emirate, Colonel Nasser Rashid Al Zari , adds, “The fire broke out in a building adjacent to the main building of the complex.”

No casualties were reported.
