Al Gaffal 22ft dhow sailing race postponed to Sunday
The Al Gaffal Traditional 22ft Dhow Sailing Race has been postponed one day to Sunday 27 May due to bad weather.
The postponement of the race ordered by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE minister of finance, the founder and sponsor of the race.
From Sir Bu Nair Island, the participating dhows will sail towards the finish line off DIMC at Dubai Marina by noon on Sunday, depending on the winds.
Sheikh Hamdan will be at the start line on Friday to open the functions held as part of the event which first edition launched in 1991.
