Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) today announced the opening of the Al Waha Mosque 2 at Dubai Silicon Oasis, the integrated free zone technology park.

Inaugurated in the presence of Shaikh Ibrahim Al Mansoori, DSOA officials, and worshippers, the opening of the 3,626 square meter facility takes the total number of mosques at the high tech park to three.

Dubai Silicon Oasis has also announced an ‘Iftar Sa'em’ initiative that will distribute more than 8,000 Iftar meals at the three mosques during the Holy Month.

Eng. Muammar Al Katheeri, Executive Vice-President of Engineering Management at DSOA, said: “The opening of the third mosque is a reflection of our dedication to provide residents with well-rounded amenities including places of worship. These community facility developments articulate our regard and commitment to the well-being of the growing number of people that work and live in the integrated tech park.”

The first mosque has a capacity of 300 worshippers, while Al Waha 1 and 2 mosque can accommodate more than 800 worshippers each. All mosques in DSO have been designed in coordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai.

A wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai, Dubai Silicon Oasis operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductors, microelectronics and other electronics-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D divisions in the Middle East and North Africa region.
