The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that the UAE citizens, holders of diplomatic, special and regular passports, are allowed to travel to Antigua and Barbuda without having to obtain a prior visa with the possibility of staying for a period not exceeding 90 days, extendable for a further period of up to 90 additional days.

Ahmed Saeed Elham Al Dhahiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the ministry, said the ministry received a diplomatic note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Immigration of Antigua and Barbuda, on the exemption of the UAE citizens from the pre-entry visa requirement.

The note indicated that the period of stay should not exceed 90 days and in case one intended to extend the stay one could stay for an additional period of 90 days, he added. The total stay should not exceed 180 days in 12 months. The duration of stay is calculated from the date of the first entry to the territory of Antigua and Barbuda.

Al Dhahiri stressed that this exemption reflects the development of bilateral relations between the governments of the UAE and Antigua and Barbuda, which would contribute to the promotion of tourism, trade, investment and adding a new destination for travel in the list of the UAE citizens.
