The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Australia, is following up the situation of Emirati students in the state of Tasmania where bushfires began last week, Undersecretary of MoFA, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, stated.

All Emirati students there are safe, Al Hamed said.

An operations room was set up by the Embassy in Australia to maintain round-the-clock communication with all Emirati students in Tasmania and SMS text messages were sent to all nationals in the Australian state, he added.

The senior official stressed the need for students in Tasmania to abide by instructions by the local authorities and to call the UAE Embassy on 0061262987111 and MoFA's Operations Department on 0097122222000.
