Sharjah Baby-Friendly Campaign (SBFC) has launched its official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, with the aim to connecting with a wider audience, introducing benefits of breastfeeding to women, and highlighting the campaign and its goals.

SBFC social media platform will work as a hotline for breastfeeding mothers to communicate with lactation consultant to discuss their personal challenges. Followers of these bilingual social platforms will be able to ask questions about breastfeeding and interact with experienced mother and child healthcare consultants for tips and advice about breastfeeding. A group of highly qualified and reliable consultants who have experience in leading hospitals and healthcare centres in the UAE and the region will be available to interact with public online.

Dr. Hessa Khalfan Al Ghazal, Director, Executive Committee, SBFC, said, "We are striving to become closer to members of the community, especially women and mothers, and to respond to their inquiries with regard to the campaign. We not only aim to raise awareness, but also dispel myths and misconceptions about breastfeeding and educate people on the scientific and medical facts. We are delighted to keep pace with the digital age by communicating with a wider audience of social network users to introduce our campaign and its goals, and to create a safe and healthy community."

The new platforms will provide information, facts, photos and reports about the campaign and its activities and will provide a live chat service in Arabic and English to answer all questions followers may have. The SBFC welcomes all suggestions and comments that could help the campaign achieve its goals faster.
