What were you doing on 10/11/12 @ 13:14 hours?

Saturday, November 10, 2012, was a special day, numerically speaking.

For, it read 10/11/12 – a classic sequential date – and, it becomes more interesting here, at 14 past one in the afternoon, the time-and-date sequence read: 10/11/12 @ 13:14 hours.

It also dis a bit of the same at nine minutes past eight in the morning on the day: 08:09 @ 10/11/12 – weird, huh?

Worldwide, numerologists suggest that sequential dates and times hold special significance, which explains why there is a sudden rush of wedding parties and birth deliveries on such special dates, and some even try to zero-in on the rarest of rare special times on those days.

Imagine a child born at 12:11:01am on November 10 – it will be (in military time) 10/11 0:11:01, which is special for its triple repeat of three numbers: 101, 101, 101.

While that could be with any November 10 (not necessarily November 10, 2012), there are a couple of dozen patterns (yes, that is 24 patterns in all) recorded for Saturday, November 10, 2012. You can check all of them here.

A dipstick (read: quick and random) survey conducted by this website found that almost 40 per cent of would-be brides will, if possible, consider shifting their wedding dates to what they consider a lucky or iconic date, such as 10/11/12, or this next month’s iconic date December 12, 2012 (12/12/12).

In fact, MGM Grand’s Forever Grand Chapel in Las Vegas has a special numerology package set for these dates. For $1,400 (Dh5,142), couples get the rights to use one of their Forever Grand wedding chapels, a professional pianist, the minister’s fees, limo service to the courthouse, floral and photo packages, hair service at a salon, 50 customised chocolate bars with MGM Grand logo and a commemorative souvenir certificate! What’s more, MGM is offering the same deal for 10-11-12 and 12-12-12.

Whether or not marriages conducted on special days last any longer or shorter than others that are conducted on ‘regular’ days may be a matter of further research, but one thing is for sure – if you do get married on a numerically significant date such as this Saturday or perhaps 12/12/12, it’ll be pretty hard to forget one’s anniversary. Or will it?
