An African has been arrested for trying to smuggle 9.45kg of cocaine stuffed in fish.
It is considered to be the biggest smuggling operation through the Dubai International Airport in the past few months, Major General Abdul Jaleel Mohammad Al Asmawi, Director-General of Combating Narcotics Department at the Dubai Police, was quoted as saying by Gulf News.
EN arrived from Sao Paolo and was on his way to Ivory Coast. He alleged a friend had paid him $6,000 (Dh2,2037) to smuggle the drugs to Ivory Coast.
EN has been charged with smuggling and possessing narcotics.
