Bored of office desk? Convert it into a hut

While there is no dearth of ‘ergonomic’ office chairs and loungers, an interior design company has launched an interesting line of office furniture that caught our eye.

Having recently opened the Middle Eastern branch in Dubai, Workspace International has introduced the Hut and the Q Corner, both of which look quite different from the cubicles we’ve all come to live with – even live in, sometimes.

Ippa Hertzberg, the Managing Director of Workspace International, confirmed to ‘Emirates24|7’ that the newly launched workspaces are available for sale in the UAE. “Yes, they are for sale in Dubai. You will find them at our office in Media City,” she said in emailed responses to our queries.

She didn’t disclose the amount one will have to shell out to convert a boring desk into a hut or a slanted-roof Q-corner, but noted that they were ‘very affordable’.

Hertzberg said she was happy with the local response from the UAE. “Response has been really good in UAE and there has been a lot of interest already, even [though it’s] just launched internationally,” she said.

The Hut’s ‘room within a room’ concept is inspired by the classic Monopoly game houses, and it boasts of a fireproof outer material. The Q-Corner too is supposed to be quiet, and its slanted roof is part of the three-base screen system.
