Boy dies after house catches fire

A 10-year-old UAE national boy died of suffocation when a fire broke out in his house in the Kadrah area in Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday.

Police said thick smoke filled the bedroom where the boy was trapped, reported Khaleej Times.

A rescue team pulled out the boy along with two other children from the bedroom which was filled with thick smoke.

They were transferred to hospital but the boy died within a few minutes of being admitted to the ICU.

The fire gutted the bedroom and a bathroom and destroyed much of the property in the house.
