A school boy from another Gulf country is facing seven charges in court in Dubai after he was caught driving his brother’s car without licence and under the influence of drugs.

The boy had been arrested by Dubai’s police for reckless driving that resulted in banging his car into a steel barrier on the road, leading to the damage of the barrier.

The Sharjah-based Arabic language daily Alkhaleej quoted the prosecutor as saying the boy would be tried on seven counts of charges including taking drugs, possession of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving, damaging property including the barrier and his brother’s car, driving without licence and taking his brother’s car without his permission.

The paper identified the boy as MAS but did not specify his age.

Saudi man kills little son, buries body in desert
A Saudi man murdered his 10-year-old son by bearing him and chaining him to death before burying his body in the desert, the Saudi press reported on Monday.

The 37-year-old father from the northwestern town of Tabuk had reported his son missing to the police, triggering a massive search for the boy.

But he was arrested later after his Arab wife revealed to the police that the father killed his son and buried his boy in the desert.

During interrogation, the father confessed to killing the boy by beating him up and chaining him to death, the paper said.

It did not mention the father’s motives but quoted a police spokesman as saying they would issue a statement later.
