Boy loses two fingers in firework blast

A nine-year-old Emirati boy lost two fingers after fireworks exploded in his hand during Eid holiday in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain, newspapers reported on Friday.

Doctors treating the boy said two fingers were completely severed in the accident while he also suffered from ruptures in his left hand.

Police said they arrested an Asian man who sold fireworks to the boy and other people during Eid in violation of rules banning the sale of such dangerous items.
