The Burj Mohammed bin Rashid at World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi has been awarded the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s (CTBUH) 2015 Best Tall Building Award for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, Aldar Properties said in a statement.

Additionally, the project will now be judged as one of four regional winners for the 2015 Best Tall Building Worldwide Award in November 2015’s Awards Symposium in Chicago. Also nominated are the One World Trade Centre in New York, CapitaGreen in Singapore, and Bosco Verticale in Milan.

Named after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the tower has fast become the most sought after residential location in the heart of the city since its launching in November 2014.

Standing at 382 metres, the Burj Mohammed bin Rashid is the tallest tower in Abu Dhabi and is now home to 422 families and 1,124 residents.

Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar said: “On behalf of the team at Aldar, we are extremely pleased to have been commended with such a prestigious award. Burj Mohammed bin Rashid is testament to Aldar’s commitment to building flourishing communities and enhancing the lives of those who live in, work in and visit Abu Dhabi.”

The CTBUH Awards recognise projects and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability at the highest and broadest level. The object of the awards programme is to provide a more comprehensive and sophisticated view of these important structures, while advocating improvements in every aspect of performance, including those that have the most effect on the people who use these buildings each day.

Burj Mohammed bin Rashid residents have a direct access to The Mall at World Trade Centre Mall, the modern shopping destination which caters to a diverse range of fashion and food-centric customers.

Comprising 474 units over 92 floors, the Burj Mohammed bin Rashid’s well-appointed living spaces have been designed with the highest quality finishes and appliances and unparalleled views of Abu Dhabi.
