Dubai Police is testing 80 cameras, which can record conversations and interactions between policemen and customers.

“We have 80 cameras on test that will last for six months,” said Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeinah, Commander of Dubai Police.

Only police officers who interact with customers can wear the camera, he said and added that this innovative step aims at enhancing work relationship between police force and the public.

Police officers will be trained on using the gadget, which boast hi-tech standards. They are light in weight and can record up to eight hours.

Maj. Gen. Mazeinah confirmed that they have special storage place where the sound and images will be stored that cannot be tampered with.
