Campaign to cut power consumption in Dubai

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has launched a campaign to reduce electricity consumption.

This campaign aims to inform people about techniques to reduce power consumption which reaches its peak during the summer months. The campaign will target peak electricity consumption between 12 noon to 5pm.

The campaign, which started in June, targets residential, commercial and industrial areas in Dubai and will run until August.

The campaign promotes rational use of home appliances such as ovens, irons, dishwashers and washing machines during peak hours, as well as setting air conditioners’ temperature to 24 degrees centigrade in occupied rooms, significantly reducing electricity consumption.
