Dubai Police Search and Rescue teams came across an accident, which was a miracle, according to a top official.

An Asian man’s car crashed under a truck on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Dubai.

The car was completely smashed, but the driver came out without a scratch.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Lt. Col Ahmed Burqibah, Deputy Director of Dubai Police’s Search and Rescue Department, recounting some of the worst incidents he had encountered in his tenure, said that when the rescue teams arrived at the accident scene, all what they could see was the driver’s finger.

“At the accident scene, all what we could see was the driver’s small finger moving.

“We were calling him, but he did not reply at all. From the moving finger, we knew that he is alive, but did not know anything about his condition.”

Lt. Col. Burqibah added that the policemen at the scene suggested pulling the car out from underneath the truck.

“However, we did not allow them to do so. It is a mistake to pull a car with the trapped driver inside as this movement might worsen his condition and could lead to serious consequences and in some case, death of the trapped driver.”

He added that first, they put support tools under the truck to prevent it from further crushing the car.

“Then, we started cutting the car to release the driver. Within 15 minutes, we started hearing the driver’s voice. He was Asian, and he started talking to us.

“We kept on talking to him to prevent him from getting unconscious.”

He added that after almost 40 minutes, they managed to cut the car, but were shocked at what they saw.

“When the car was cut and opened, a tall Asian man came out. He stood on his feet, brushed his clothes and walked away.

Then he raised his hands to the sky and said ‘Al Hamdullelah’ which means ‘Thanks to Allah’, for being alive and not getting harmed.

Lt. Col. Burqibah added that the car was completely smashed, and it was difficult for them to believe that that driver was safe and did not have any injuries.

“When we first saw the car, and its terrible condition, we thought that the driver would have died on the spot.
“It was only his moving finger which showed us that he is alive. Watching him walk on his feet without any injuries was a miracle.”
