Car recovered from sea after one month

Ajman police recovered a car from the sea one month after it was reported missing.

A local man reported the police one month ago that his car was stolen from the parking near his house while the engine was still running.

The civil defense teams and police officers had recovered the vehicle from inside the sea near Al-zawra’a area, reports Al Ittihad newspaper.

The four-wheel was covered with algae and sea weeds.

Brigadier General Ali Abdullah Alwan head of Ajman police commander was informed about the car in the beach and he ordered it to be recoverd.

After recovering the car, police checked the plate number and investigations revealed that the car was reported missing a month ago by its owner in Sharjah Police.

The Ajman police informed Sharjah police and the owner was contacted who was amazed that he finally found his car.

The car was stolen by unknown persons who drove it till its petrol was exhausted and then drove it near the beach where they put the gear on reverse and let it submerge in the sea.

Meanwhile the authorities referred the vehicle to the forensic laboratory for examination and identify whether the car was used in any illegal actions during the past few weeks and in case of nothing it will be delivered to its owner.

The ministry of interior and the police departments issued circulars warning inhabitants not to leave their cars engines on while parked in malls, markets and streets, even in front of their houses.

Dubai police also recently raised a proposal to criminalize drivers who leave their cars engine working while they are inside malls or hypermarkets.

Also the Federal traffic law in article 62 says that the person who leaves his car on the side of the road and its engine working will be fined Dh300.
