Cars parked near dust bins will be seized

Drivers parking their vehicles near garbage bins, construction sites or other wrong parking places could have their cars immediately taken away.

The offending drivers could also be fined between Dh200 and Dh2000 under a new penalty system issued by the Abu Dhabi Transport Department.

“All drivers are invited to stock to rules and avoid parking their cars in wrong place to avoid penalties and seizure of their vehicles,” the department said in a statement carried by local Arabic language newspapers.

It said the new system affects cars parked near public garbage bins, on pedestrian crossings inside parking spaces, at loading areas, near construction sites, in parking places assigned for hotels and for mosque preachers
