Child calls cops on maid who forced him to eat

Abu Dhabi Police operations room receives several emergency calls a day, which are all dealt with seriously.

Last year, among the thousands of emergency calls the operations room received some were from little children, with funny requests.

In one case, a four-year-old boy rang up cops alleging that his housemaid was hitting him. Police team rushed to his home, to ensure safety of the little boy, only to learn that the boy was angry with the maid as she forced him to eat and requested the cops to help him get rid of her, reported Arabic daily ‘Al Bayan’.

In yet another case, a nine-year-old boy rang up cops from a mall alleging that a boy was insulting him. Police met the boys in the malls and settled their dispute.

Lt. Col. Ali Moftah Al-Aryani, Head of Department of Central Operations, Abu Dhabi Police, told the daily, “We never ignore or neglect any call. We deal with all calls seriously.

In yet another bizarre call, a man called up requesting cops to give him prepaid telephone card.

Abu Dhabi Police Operations Room received more than 17,48,438 calls on the emergency number ‘999 ‘in the first half of last year.

Among them, 171,328 were traffic complaints and 185,341 crime calls. Meanwhile, over 98 per cent people are satisfied with services of Abu Dhabi Police.
