Children found on beach in UAE are illegitimate

Mom arrested on charges of illegitimate affair and endangering kids’ life

Two children dumped by their local mother on a beach were found to be illegitimate following an affair with a man from another Gulf country. Sharjah police arrested the mother who confessed to having an affair and found to have a third baby.

Police charged the woman, an Emirati without identity, of having an illegitimate relationship and endangering the lives of two children by leaving them on the beach on a gold night without any food.

The mother had first denied any link to the kids four months after she was found by the police but she later admitted they are her sons.

The two children were found by Ajman’s police on a local beach and handed them over to Sharjah police after the two told them they reside in Sharjah.

“We have now identified the parents of these children..the father is from another Gulf country and is currently in jail in connection with another case while the mother has no identity,” said Colonel Abdullah Tariam, director of the Sharjah Community police.

“The mother has confessed that they are her sons and that she had an illegitimate relationship with their father. She also had a seven-month-old girl with her and we are now trying to establish whether she is also illegitimate,” he told Emirat Alyoum daily.

He said Sharjah police had referred the case to the prosecution and that more medical tests would be conducted in case the mother retracts her statements.

Emirat Alyoum on Monday reported that three children aged between two and five years were found on a beach in Sharjah.

EARLIER STORY:

A woman, believed to be an Emirati without identity, dumped her three little children at a beach in Sharjah, leaving them hungry and shaking of cold, before they were taken by the Social Services Department.

When police found a woman suspected to be their mother, she denied any link to them although they later said she is their mother.

The children, aged between two and five, were found by beach strollers during a cold night nearly three months ago. Police said they spoke a
Gulf accent and told them their father has been in prison in the UAE for some time.

“We gave them food and looked after them. They started later to feel warm and safe and gradually adapted to the place, where they began to
play with other children,” the department chairman, Afaf Al Merri, said.

“Police later found a woman believed to be their mother. When she was brought to the department, she denied having any relationship to them.

“The boys appeared confused when they met her and did not want to say anything. But they told us she is their mother. We are still trying to verify her identity as she could be an Emirati without ID.”

Merri said the children told police that their mother took them to the beach then told them to wait for her so she would go and buy toys for them.

“I am surprised how a mother could treat her own children with such cruelty. She has endangered the lives of her children and we will not hand them back to their mother before verifying her psychological and social condition and identifying the real motives which led her to abandon her children this way.”
