A 61-year-old Chinese tourist collapsed inside Dubai’s airport after his heart briefly stopped but was rescued and brought back to life by the emirate’s medics.

The man had just arrived from a European country and walked into Terminal 3 when he collapsed in the packed hall in front of shocked passengers.

A medical team from Dubai’s Ambulance Services rushed to the presumably dead man and reached him within two minutes.

“They found that his heart has completely stopped…they instantly applied the known procedures in such cases and succeeded in reviving his heart…the man was back to life and taken to hospital, where he stayed for a couple of days before he was discharged,” said Nader Al Muhairi, airport and port ambulance services manager.

“Our teams are highly trained to deal with such cases and have previously succeeded in saving lives of people who suffered from heart attacks and strokes,” he told the Dubai-based Arabic language daily ‘Emarat Al Youm’.
