Cop 'threatens' woman via SMS

An Emirati policeman allegedly harassed a woman over mobile by calling and threatning her.

He threatened to defame her using the internet, the court heard.

RAR, 34, is accused by the prosecution by exploiting etisalat services and annoying MRA, 36, residency officer, by calling her up and sending her inappropriate pictures.

The victim testified that on September 23, she received a call at night while was at home. The caller told her that he has seen her in a shopping mall and that he got her mobile number from someone else and that he would like to meet her.

“I asked him not to call me again…I switched off my mobile. However, he a while later he called again; I did not reply. Then he sent me an SMS telling me that I should allow him to carry on his conversation and only then I can hang up the call. i did not reply to the SMS. But he continued sending me SMS expressing his admiration and love for me.

"On Friday the 24th when he called me I informed my brother, who inturncalled him and asked him why he was annoying me. But he abused my bother told him to shut up. Later he send me five SMS threatening that he would give my number to other men and tell them I am a prostitute.. He also threatened me that he would take a picture of my car and post it on the Net under the title ‘prostitute’,” the victim testified.
