Couple held for witchcraft in Ajman

Ajman police have arrested a couple for deception through witchcraft involving exorcism and their ability to heal marital problems, a newspaper said Monday.

A woman who works at a hair saloon acted as a go-between to get customers for the man, who gave some candles and paper cuts to female victims in return for money, the semi official daily Alittihad said.

Police raided the man’s apartment and seized talismans and other stuff used in his black art activity, the paper said.

“The man claimed to his victims that he can bring them closer to their husbands and that he can treat those who are haunted by jinn,” it said.

A court in Ajman which heard the case on Sunday decided to adjourn hearings for May 8 for more witnesses.
