The State Security Circuit at the Federal Supreme Court, headed by Justice Falah Al Hajri, has reserved rulings in two cases involving two Emiratis accused of defaming the UAE leadership and creating and moderating a website to promote ideas of terrorist groups for May 18 and May 25, respectively.

The court ordered the two defendants to remain in custody while the cases are pending.

The court heard during today's session the plea of the defence lawyer of the man accused of defaming the country's leadership, who had sought mercy and leniency.

In the second case, the defence lawyer pleaded his client was innocent, and therefore, the charges against him should be dropped.

The two sessions were attended by representatives of the media and members of civil society organisations in the UAE.
