Crash on Sheikh Zayed Road slows morning traffic

UPDATE: Traffic was seen moving freely on Sheikh Zayed Road at 9.30am.

Earlier, a three car pile-up early Thursday morning greeted office-goers on Sheikh Zayed Road during the morning rush hour, at around 8.15am.

The accidents resulted in the slowing down of traffic on both sides of the road - equally due to the road being blocked by the wreckage and rubber-neckers who wanted to see what happened, a witness told Emirates 24|7.

The accident happened on the road heading toward Abu Dhabi, just after the Oasis Centre in Dubai.

A taxi could be seen badly smashed up at both ends of the car. Ambulance and Dubai Police personnel had arrived at the scene.

Traffic was thick and slow as far back as the Trade Centre Interchange.
