Crashes on Al Khail Road, SMBZR, SZR

Multiple crashes have been reported across Dubai, causing gridlock on most major highways heading into Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and around Oud Metha.

An eyewitness reported that a car has overturned on Al Khail Road, with traffic at a near standstill, heading from Sheikh Zayed Road, near Interchange One.

Dubai Police confirmed the same in a tweet: “An accident between two vehicles on Al Khail Road towards Al Qouz, before Nad Al Sheba Bridge causing traffic.”

Nikhil Phadke also took to Twitter to say: “Al Khail Road from Dubai Mall exit till Nad Al Sheba exit traffic due to a terrible accident. Dubai Police already in action.”

He later reported on traffic in both directions due to rubberneckers, stating: “Traffic on other side of Al Khail Road also dye to rubberneckers. Please don’t brake and stare; drive on!”

Another crash has Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (SMBZR), before the Dubai-Al Ain intersection.

Twitter handle, TrafficDxb also tweeted of the same, saying: “Major accident on SMBZR before E66 Dubai-Al Ain Road intersection towards Sharjah.”

Multiple accidents have been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road around the Safa Park exit, with traffic extending across Meydan Street towards Ras Al Khor.

Similarly, Oud Metha has experienced a minor accident on E88, opposite Latifa Hospital, heading towards Wafi/Bur Dubai.
