Crusher shut down in Fujairah

Operation of a stone crusher in Toyeen, Fujairah, was shut down for seven days by the Ministry of Environment and Water for failure to comply with operational instructions, which require reduction of dust emissions and environmental pollution.

Environmental pollution is in violation of the Federal Law No 24/1999, the Cabinet's Resolution No 20/2008 and the Ministry's own resolution No 110 issued in February 2010.

This is the fourth time since July 2010 that the crusher's operators have violated the operation conditions and requirements set by the relevant authorities to reduce dust emissions, according to reports by the ministry.

The crusher's operators were ordered to do the required modifications to the production lines and FNRA inspectors will check the installation of a proper dust and pollution control systems and make sure the crusher complies with the set rules.
