Dad reverses car onto child in Sharjah

A Bangladeshi expat died and an Emirati child was seriously injured on Tuesday in separate accidents in Sharjah.

In the first accident, the Bangladeshi was run over by a Toyota Corolla car on Al Nahda Street near Sahara Centre mall.

Preliminary investigations show that the car was speeding and hit the man who was running across the street. The man died on the spot.

In the second accident, a four-year-old girl was seriously injured when her father’s Toyota Land Cruiser ran over her while he was reversing the vehicle in their house in the Maliha areas of the emirate.

The child was taken to a hospital Dhaid. Her medical condition is said to be critical.
