Have you always wanted to participate in a marathon but afraid you are not fit enough?

This marathon should easily get you moving, as participants are required to use public transportation.

This coming Friday, November 1, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) celebrates its 5th edition of Public Transportation Day (PTD).

To promote public transportation in Dubai, the RTA and Duplays are inviting everybody to participate in the PTD treasure hunt.

"Each team, between two and five adults will get a list of clues they must solve in the allocated time period.

“Teams must stay together at all times. If your team does not make it to the finish line before the buzzer sounds, you will be disqualified," states the RTA.

The team that arrives first will win Dh10,000, while a money prize of Dh7000 will go out to the second place and Dh3000 to the team that arrives third.

Public transport use will be free for all on Public Transportation Day.

On November 1, the RTA calls on the public not to use their own cars, but to use means of public transportation instead.

The hunt will start at 4pm at Burj Plaza, Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid City Boulevard, from where participants will be put to the test concerning their knowledge of public transportation in Dubai.

The fee per team to participate in the race is Dh250.
