Reckless driving in Sharjah: Dh2,000 fine

Sharjah Police has warned motorists who drive recklessly in residential areas.

Motorists nabbed for reckless driving in residential neighbourhoods will be fined Dh2,000 in addition to 12 black points, and their vehicles impounded for one month, said Major Marzouk Khalfan, Director, Detective Branch, Traffic and Patrols Sharjah Police, in an interview to the magazine ‘Policeman’ issued by the General Directorate of Sharjah Police.

Also, he specified, that the impounded vehicles cannot be released in exchange of cash.

Traffic Police will closely monitor vehicles that cause noise and inconvenience on roads for others, as well as those drifting and indulging in stunts.

Speaking to the June issue of the magazine, Major Khalfan also touched upon other issues such as investigative journalism, drug abuse, social media rumours and keeping children away from fireworks.
