Around the world in Dh200? Well, Cebu Pacific Air is promising just that to Dubai-based Filipino expats with its bumper sale that has seen the Philippines based low cost carrier slash fares up to 75 per cent across its network.

This bumper sale, which is currently available on the airline’s website until December 18 or until seats last, offers one-way fares on Dubai-Manila route, starting as low as Dh200.

According to the airline’s website, 2,450 seats will be made available on this sector during the sale period.

The Litefare, as its being marketed, is being offered on the base price, and is exclusive of the taxes and surcharges.

The sale period does bring its share of blackout dates, with the travel period stated from January 1 until April 30, 2014.

Aside from Dubai, the airline is also offering Dh100 seats from Manila to Osaka or Guangzhou, along with discounted fares from Manila to Phuket, Cebu to Bangkok; and, from Clark or Iloilo to Hong Kong.

In a statement, CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog stated: “What better way to start 2014 than with exploring the Philippines. We encourage everyone to take advantage of Cebu Pacific’s extensive network, which can take guests to some of the world’s best diving and surfing spots, as well as family-friendly and eco-adventure attractions.”

For Dubai-based expats who were unable to fly home for Christmas, this sale could offer the chance to pre-book for the Easter break before airfares fly high.

Sherry Carvalho, a Filipino expat living in Dubai, said: “I am quite sure the one-way fare will more than triple by the time the taxes are added on, but even with Dh1,200 on a return ticket to Manila, this is still a great price for me to fly home for a family wedding next year.”

In a major Middle East expansion drive, Cebu Pacific is expected to take off for Doha in February 2014, aiming to fly between Manila and Qatar using Airbus A330 thrice a week.

Doha flights will be every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Earlier, the Civil Aeronautics Board also revealed that Cebu Pacific is also planning to serve the two Saudi cities of Riyadh and Dammam next year.
