Massage centres in Dubai will be regulated by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) on a directive of the the Economic Department of Dubai, Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm reported.
“The Authority will apply the rules governing the work of massage centres taking into account all the health requirements for the work of these centres and their employees,” it said.
Omar Bushehab Executive Director of the Inspectorate of Commerce and Consumer Protection in the department said: “The body agreed with the Dubai Health Authority on the implementation of all health conditions of the body at the massage centres in the emirate.”
“This comes after receiving complaints about the exposure of the clients to disease and health problems because of the lack of professionalism and qualified experts in this field,” he said.
