Court adjourned hearing. Company insists he stole cargo (File)
An Indian driver is facing charges of stealing three tonnes of diesel he was transporting to a company in Ras Al Khaimah but the man insists he was robbed.
The driver told a court in Abu Dhabi that he was on his way to Ras Al Khaimah through Abu Dhabi with a tanker laden with three tonnes of diesel when he was intercepted by some men in their truck on the road.
He said that they then assaulted him and offloaded the diesel to their truck before fleeing the area.
Newspapers said the court on Sunday adjourned hearings after the company representative insisted that the driver has stolen the diesel.
