The Buildings Department of Dubai Municipality organised a seminar to explain the strategy for activating the new e-services of its Building Inspection Section for building permits and control.

The new set of e-services are an integral part of the Department's e-system, which was inaugurated in August 2005, in order to achieve the strategic objectives of Dubai Municipality on the automation of all services of the civic body.

Omar Abdul Rahman, Head of Building Inspection Section said that it is decided to activate the new e-system with the beginning of 2011.

"The new system is characterised by its comprehensiveness of all data on buildings such as documents, records, permits and data of the plots as well as of the bodies related to construction work in the Emirate of Dubai such as the government and semi-government departments and establishments and private sector companies such as the consulting and engineering offices, contracting companies and general maintenance companies," he said.

The system is user-friendly for engineers and inspectors of the Buildings Department authorised to use without specific restrictions to the time and place within the Emirate of Dubai or outside, as it is linked with advanced portable computers fully equipped with necessary accessories and add-ons to facilitate the work at external sites or from within the vehicles of the engineers and inspectors of the Department.

In addition, by using the system working time is reduced in terms of speed of completion of transactions of customers and simplifies their procedures. It also communicates directly with the customers by sending text messages automatically informing them of the status of their transactions in order to achieve the  desired goal of developing the loyalty of those concerned and raise the level of satisfaction of the community.
