Dubai Media Incorporated will begin training Emiratis for jobs in the media field.

Jassim Aqeel Al Fahim, Director, Human Resources, DMI, added that the move aims to support Dubai's strategy to consolidate its role as a media platform in the area.

Emiratis with Secondary School Certificates and university degrees can apply for jobs on September 18 between 8am and 4pm at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre [Halls A,B,C], reported Al Bayan.

The applicants will be interviewed and placed as trainees in various disciplines from October for a duration of three months. They will be paid a stipend during the training period, said Al Fahim.

The documents required for application include passport copy and birth certificate, National ID, CV, and two photos.

The initiative comes as per the directives of Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh, Managing Director and General Manager of DMI, who had announced earlier that DMI will appoint 500 nationals as trainees in the sector in the coming years.

Najla’a Al Blouchi, Director of training and development, DMI, said: "The trainees will be evaluated by the HR Department during the training period. They will be monitored daily, weekly and monthly and provided with the necessary support."

"And the trainees will be placed in given job appointments beginning 2013 based on their professional competance and merit," she added.
