Dubai Police has arrested one of the suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a taxi driver, reported Arabic daily ‘Emarat Al Youm’. The driver was found dead in his cab in a sandy area of Dubai last month.

The taxi driver was allegedly murdered because he married the suspects’ sister without the consent of her family.

The Pakistani suspect said that their sister’s wedding angered their father and he planned the murder of the driver along with the two brothers in their home country. The suspects then decided to return to Dubai to kill the driver.

The brothers allegedly lured the cabbie to a sandy area on November 29 and killed him before fleeing the scene.

The incident came to light when the taxi company reported about the incident to police. Immediately police team arrived at the scene and collected forensic evidences.

Police summoned relatives of the victim, and his brother informed police about his suspicion regarding the suspects because the deceased had married the suspects’ sister without their consent.

One of the suspects, who was arrested from his home, confessed to killing the victim with the help of his brother.

He has been referred to Public Prosecution.

The other suspect is still at large.
