A drunk Indian man kidnapped a six-day-old baby girl from her parents on November 25 from their resident, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
SSA, 35, is a visitor who called 35-year-old mother JB, asking her to show him her baby.
SSA came to see the visit but was not welcomed inside their residence as he was drunk. JB then took her child out to his car to show him the baby.
When she went back to fetch a cap for the baby, SSA took off to his resident hotel with the baby.
He called to inform that he was heading to his accommodation in Amwaj Rotana hotel in Dubai Marina.
The mother also went after him. Upon her reaching the hotel, she saw SSA in the hotel room with the baby and he refused to hand it over to the mother.
JB took help of the receptionist and also called her husband. But the man did not budge.
The hotel’s manager interfered to hand over the baby but he threatened of jumping from the window with the baby.
After lot of commotion and interference by the police, who arrested the man, the woman got back her baby girl.
SSA claimed that the baby was his child. The accused got into the police patrol car willingly with the baby in his hands.
The court adjourned the case to February 15.
