DSS raffle: 8-year-old Emirati girl wins BMW; Indian housewife bags Dh100,000

Dubai Summer Surprises edition of the Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) promotion have whipped up a shopping frenzy at participating malls. The inaugural draw of the DSMG raffle promotion was warmly welcomed by shoppers at Arabian Centre where two lucky winners won BMW cars and another two walked away with cash + gift vouchers worth Dh100,000 each.

Among the winners were three Indian nationals and a UAE national. The two winners of the Dh100,000 cash + gift vouchers were both Indians. Mrs. Rashmi, a housewife and an Indian national who bagged the prize after shopping at Lamcy Plaza, expressed her excitement.

“I am very happy to have won the prize. I have been living in the UAE since past 12 years but haven’t been lucky to win anything. This is the first time I won myself something. I am glad that it happened now as I am planning to go to India. I am going to use the prize money to shop for my near-dear ones,” she said.

The other winner of the Dh100,000 cash + gift vouchers is M.A Yashiya, another Indian national.

Fathima Khamis, the lucky mother of Ms. Noora, an 8-year-old UAE national who won the BMW car, was all smiles when informed about her daughters’ win. “At first I did not believe this was true. I live in Abu Dhabi and we visit Dubai every week. I entered my daughter’s name on the raffle for good luck, and I am pleased that she won. Noora is very fond of cars and this is the best thing to have happened to her,” she said.

The winner of the second BMW car is Monly, an Indian national.

The promotion which began on June 7 will continue until September 7, offering shoppers a chance to win prizes worth Dh5 million. Shoppers can avail the raffle coupons upon spending Dh200 at any of the participating malls across the three seasons of ‘Summer is Dubai’ including Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), Eid and End of Season.
