UAE’s telecom provider Du has unveiled its unlimited data bundle package for its Blackberry customers for as low as Dh55 per month.

“Customers who can commit to subscribe for 12 months with any of their existing smartphones can avail unlimited data package for as low as Dh55,” said Osman Sultan, CEO Du. International subscribers with the same commitment on the Data Assurance Plan can avail the benefit for Dh130.

Business users committing for 12 months will get unlimited national data for as low as Dh40 per month.

The “Standard Assurance Plan” however allows existing Blackberry customers to continue with their plans of Dh130 for  unlimited local data package and Dh260 for international package with an added benefit of 1000 free SMS (800 local and 200 international). International Blackberry International  service customers will also get an additional 20mb of international data usage per month.

However these offers are only applicable to Du blackberry subscribers on or before August 1.

“These offers are to address a situation emerging out of cancellation of Blackberry service. However if there is a reversal of the decision, these offers will be pulled,” said Sultan.

Customers currently enjoying the six months free internet will continue to enjoy the monthly fee waiver.

Du is also offering its customers an option to choose a different smart phone providing a free smartphone for Dh180 with a national bundle and Dh310 with international bundle provided the subscribers commit for 12 months.

“People can decide to move to another smart phone through the smart phone assurance plan. Customers will be given a discount of Dh1500 discount on select smart phone regardless of the plan, while Elite Silver customers will get a Dh2500 discount and Elite Gold customers a discount of Dh3000,” said Sultan.

According to him company’s profits will not be affected due to cancellation of Blackberry service. “Blackberryy users will shift to other services and we will attract them with the best offers,” he added.
