As miscreants on Dubai’s roads go, one unnamed biker has set a new low. Dubai Police have stopped him now and it is unlikely he will be seen riding the streets again.

However, just before he was stopped, according to head of Dubai Traffic Police, General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, he racked up a catalogue of serious traffic offences all in one ride out in Dubai.

The biker in question brazenly drove past a police patrol without licence plates performing stunts on his vehicle, he then got into a race with a Nissan Patrol 4x4 and proceeded to jump red lights. Then he performed a few stunts.

Al Zafeen said: “He saw the police patrol, but passed in front of it performing stunts - making smoke come off the back tyres.

“He started a race with a Nissan Patrol 4x4, went through red signals and was weaving between cars, causing panic, so we decided not to chase him.”

The biker was eventually stopped and Al Zafeen said he has had enough of such reckless behaviour.

He said: “They are endangering lives. This behaviour is not acceptable.”

Dubai’s Traffic Police now have a special unit to chase down reckless drivers and bikers who perform stunts.

Bikes have also been seized from Al Mamzar, JBR, Jumeriah and Nad Al Hamar for driving against traffic and on pavements.
