NRI's India home burgled: Gold stolen

The house of a Dubai-based non-resident Indian (NRI) businessman has been burgled in his home-town of Punnayoorkkulam, Trichur, in the south Indian state of Kerala.
 
Several million dirhams worth of gold and diamonds, along cash, have reportedly been stolen.
 
Mohammed Kunji Haji, owner of Dubai-based Jaleel Trading Company, has been shuttling between the UAE and India, and came here on August 20, 2015 with his family.
 
He house was locked and monitored by security guards.
 
“Last Tuesday, a security guard found the doors broken open and it is reported that thieves took gold ornaments, diamonds and Rs5 million,” said a source familiar with the case.
 
Jaleel Traders having diversified business interests including retail fruits and vegetables in the UAE.
 
Cops are checking CCTVs in the neighbourhood, though there are no CCTVs in the house. Investigations are also focused on people closely associated with the family.
