With work on the Dubai Canal project in full swing, a new traffic alteration is in place. Access to Sheikh Zayed Road from the internal road between Emarat Atrium and Holiday Inn has been closed.

The closure will be for two-three months, confirmed a staff member onsite.

New roads signs have come up along the internal roads broadcasting the change in travel route.

The road leading to the now blocked exit was congested this morning as commuters were unaware of the change in route.

The exit, which connected traffic from Al Wasl Road or the internal roads near Al Safa area, with Sheikh Zayed Road was opened in October last year.

Commuters from Al Wasl Road will now have to access Sheikh Zayed Road from the roundabout on Umm Amar road.

The roundabout, near the Business Bay Metro Station, also provides access to commuters from Sheikh Zayed Road into the internal areas.
