Dubai cops save widow from ‘maid for sex’ hell

A businessman has been accused of human trafficking and forcing a widow into the flesh trade.

According to the case before the Dubai Criminal Court, the 50-year old Indian, CA, is the prime accused.

Two others are also involved in the case.

A houseboy, UC, 20, also Indian, has already been convicted and jailed for three years to be followed by deportation, whereas the third suspect, identified as M, is still on the run.

According to the report, the victim MF was sent to Dubai to work as a maid by M.

MF told the court that she lost her husband in 2005 and came to Dubai to work as a maid to cater to the needs of her children.

M, residing in Mumbai, promised her a job for a Dubai family where she would earn at Dh800.

He directed her to CA and UC who picked her up from the airport and took her to a room in the Deira area.

MF claimed CA took her passport, physically abused her twice and informed her that she would be a prostitute.

“Both CA and UC ran a brothel until their activities were busted on March 26,” the report quoted prosecutors as saying.

The duo had stashed surveillance cameras in artificial flowers mounted outside the door to monitor the corridors in case police were coming, they added.

MF acquired a police contact’s number from one of the brothel customers and the police rescued her.

The main accused CA is still absconding and did not show up in court.
