Dubai Customs wins Open Group’s innovation award

An innovation leader at Dubai Customs won the world renowned Open Group’s Innovation Award. Hussam Juma Mohammed - Director Service Innovation department received the award in recognition of his valuable contributions to Dubai Customs’ corporate design and architecture innovations and initiatives which led to save AED 218 million.

Juma attributed this achievement to the great efforts exerted by the higher management team at Dubai Customs who helped build an innovation incubator within Dubai Customs workplace.

This award is one of many accolades that Dubai Customs gained within its ongoing trip to achieve a distinctive worldwide leading role.

Juma had won a number of awards including first place in UAE’s Excellence Awards, first place in Government Leader Awards and first place in DGEP’s Best Employee Awards.  

The Open Group Awards 2017 took place in India during The Open Group Conference and aimed to recognize and honour leaders from Government, Industry and Academia for their significant achievements in adopting Enterprise Architecture.

The awards program encourages and motivates governments, organisations and all stake holders in e-Governance to come up with innovative solutions in designing and implementing effective enterprise architecture against various challenges and complexities of developing economies.

It also helps identify and award outstanding Enterprise Architects for their professional competence and distinct achievements.
