Caroline Wozniacki got her Dubai Open going with some sand-boarding. The tennis star cut a pretty figure against the backdrop of the dunes in the emirate.

Ana Ivanovic took time out to relax in the spectacular Miracle Gardens in Dubai this week, ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Ivanovic was amazed by the world’s biggest flower garden which is home to 45 million blooms.

“It’s a very peaceful and beautiful location, with so many flowers. It’s a great way to relax. I’ve seen the city grow so much since my first visit in 2006 and it always offers so much, there’s always things to do and this brings a lot of excitement to this event.

“The field is very strong and I feel ready, and am looking forward to my first match.”

Action in the WTA Tournament continues until Saturday, and along with Ivanovic, will feature French Open and WTA Finals runner up Simona Halep, defending champion Venus Williams, Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova,  former winners Agnieszka Radwanska and Caroline Wozniacki, Australian Open semi-finalist Ekaterina Makarova and recent Sydney semi-finalist Angelique Kerber. Tickets are still available for every day from the box office.
